Ellis Law Group is seeking an attorney with at least four years of experience to join its rapidly-growing, highly-regarded emerging companies/VC practice. The firm has a robust general corporate/transactional practice covering a broad spectrum of industries, with an emphasis on the representation of disruptive emerging companies, founders and VC investors. Ideal candidates will have significant experience counseling and advising VC-backed and other emerging companies through the life cycle of their growth, including in the areas of structuring/formation and VC financing.
We are seeking only highly-qualified candidates who have the training, experience and judgment to handle client matters with limited supervision and to act as strategic advisors to the firm’s clients. This is an excellent opportunity to do sophisticated work in an exciting, transformative practice area as part of a boutique firm boasting a talented, congenial team of attorneys. Although the firm has offices in Midtown Manhattan, this position can be fully remote (US-based), allowing for additional flexibility in the work schedule, and candidates do not need to reside or be admitted in New York.
The firm has some flexibility in how it addresses its staffing needs in this area, such that the position could be for a full-time or part-time counsel or associate, depending on the interests of the candidate. The part-time alternative would be a good fit for someone who wants a flexible schedule or who is looking for additional work while building a practice or who is returning to practice or who is looking to continue working after retiring from a larger firm. The compensation level is competitive.
The firm is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of client service, while providing a positive, rewarding work environment for attorneys and staff. We have a deep and longstanding commitment to fostering an environment of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Interested candidates with these qualifications should email a cover letter and resume, including compensation requirements. No phone calls please. Appropriate candidates should also see our listing for an Emerging Companies Partner position, but please indicate the position for which you are applying.
